The Department of Economics and Business at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Accounting, starting August 1, 2023.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and have a desire to join an interdisciplinary department.  They will teach financial accounting, managerial accounting, and upper-level electives that reflect the candidate’s interest and expertise. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester. They will also be expected to advise and students and engage in scholarship. Performance is evaluated based on four domains: 1) teaching, 2) scholarly engagement, 3) professional citizenship, and 4) student development.

Minimum Requirements:

Awarded a doctorate, or is currently ABD, in Accounting or a closely related discipline. Candidates that have been awarded a master’s degree in Accounting and a doctorate in Education will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification(s) and/or professional experience
