CL-2021-07: "A Closer Look" at How the IRS Protects Taxpayers from Tax-Related Identity Theft

Today, the IRS published the latest executive column, “A Closer Look,” which features Michael Beebe, director of Return Integrity and Compliance Services, discussing how the IRS and partners battle identity thieves. “Whether or not you’ve heard of the “Security Summit,” you’ve benefitted from the work this group does. The Security Summit is a partnership between the Internal Revenue Service, state tax agencies and the private-sector tax industry.
